It's easier to sing.
Nearly everyone knows it.
It focuses on the land and the people, not a military moment in the distant past.
It stirs the heart.
It doesn't divide the country.

I have been an advocate for "America The Beautiful" as our national anthem since high school. It's sad that the song played before nearly every event in this country focuses on the ability to hold a military position in a battle. Of course considering our current administration's foreign policy, the rest of the planet may see "The Star Spangled Banner" as being spot on.
